short shifter for s52 swap with zf320

i'm trying to figure out what shifter would give me a nice shorter throw. i've never driven an e36 so i have no idea what stock feels like but i'd like to have something shorter than the stock e30. i saw that somebody is selling a z3 short shifter but looking at the posted picture it seems to be a z3 1.9 shifter. anybody tried that?

UUC's SSK and DSSR. I've driven stock e36, z3 1.9, and this is by far the best. Just be sure to replace all the other wear items at the same time, and it's absolutely amazing.

the problem is that all the ones they discuss there is for the getrag 260. i have a zf 320. even if i look around on a e36 forum i will have no idea what the 30% shorter throw means because i've never driven and e36 so i don't know what the stock throw feels like. i only know the stock e30.

do you think it's worth $500? it is pretty pricey! i'm also thinking about modifying my stock e30 one and make the throw adjustable. that way i can pick whatever i like.
