    I Need A Driveshaft!!!!!! e34 M50NV with a ZF S5D 320Z Trans ???

    What driveshaft do I need???

Is my best option to install a diff, install the engine / trans and then measure the distance between the two?

Someone has to have done this. As far as I know the ZF 320's are the smae length so anyone running an S50 / ZF should have the same setup, correct???

I understand that this trans only came out of select e34's and a few e36 328's.

It just happen to be attached to the M50NV I have to go in my car.

I've been reading and am more confused than ever with talk of flipping the center bearing depending on driveshaft, etc.

Does someone know what I need??

    Please Help!!!!

And make sure it is from a 5 speed car. some ass on bf.c sent me an auto and I can confirm it's way too short.

Does it matter that the CSB that is on my car was from an auto?

          So, e36 328 / M3 5 speed shaft with e30 csb flipped around.

          I'm assuming a 95 M3 or 96-99 328 donor then correct?

Kinda funny that the real swap should probably some from my 95 M3 in my driveway but that for later projects.

That S50 might just make it's way in there sometime.

I appreciate the help and please confirm if what I have stated is correct.

          Thanks.

what you need is a large guibo driveshaft.

You can use one from a 325E with G260 with no issues (what I am running)

Or the above mentioned 4 bolt rear flange e36 M3/328/E46 applications.

as long as its a large guibo and from a manual trans car, it should work fine for you

the G250/260 shafts would also work if you use a revshift swap guibo, as they are small diameter guibo.

The '95 M3 shaft will require you to swap the diff input flange or to use a Z3 diff.

But I am good to go with a 96-99 328 shaft?

Can I use an older e36 (92-95) manual shaft or just the later ones?

the large output flange driveshaft from a 87 325e works perfectly and requires no CSB swapping or differential changing. I have one available if you're interested.

You need to learn to search. The question you're asking has been answered many, many times, and in fact in this thread.

And you can also compare parts on realoem. Hint: look at length and guibo dimensions.

If I had all the time to spend searching as I have and found no one specifically with the motor and trand specifically from an e34 I would.

Although I know there are many people on this forum to give a guy a hand out there rather than hints.

                      I don't need hints, I wanted help.

Thanks for the hint. I pretty much live on realoem which is how I have put together the rest of my vert and my M3 with a few less questions and a lot more research.

I just don't have the time right now and I knew there were people that would help.

So thanks again for the hints.

the engine and trans are no different in an E34 than in an E36 or when swapped into an E30. same parts will work for you that have been used many times over by many different people.

My particular setup is an E36 M50, ZF320 from an E46 and a driveshaft from an E30 325e. all parts bolted together with no issues and have been in service for many miles with no problems what so ever

Thanks. I'll probably be shooting for a 325e shaft. They seem to be an easier find in the yards out here. Thanks.
