    Another clutch problem after swap

    I installed a M50NV into an E30 from a late 1990 525i.
I used the clutch/pp/fw attached to the M50 engine and didnt even unbolt it as it was tested and good when still running in the 5er.
    For transmission I used a Getrag from a E36 325i.
New slave cylinder for E36 325i.

When complete, the clutch will not fully disengage, as I push it towards first, the car will start rolling and it is quite difficult to get it gear.

Foolishly I assumed the M50 clutch and flywheel/pp where the same on E34 and E36 M50s. I found out later it is a different part numbers, could this be the source of my problems?

    any othe ideas?

Does the clutch fork match the clutch? That's my first suspect.

It was the fork from the E34 getrag, which would be the same as the clutch.

I am going to try and remove the clutch pedal stop, not sure if this normally needs to be done. Other idea is to find a way to extend the slave cylinder rod a little bit if I can find a creative way.

The E34 should have used a ZF last I checked. That should not be a problem with the slave or the clutch assembly, though.

How thoroughly have you bled the clutch? If it hasn't been pumped 100 or so times, there's a good chance that it simply hasn't finished self bleeding.

My mistake, yes it is a Zf in the E34, but I used a E36 Getrag, the flange was the wrong size to connect to the E36 driveshaft I had.

I bled it with a motive power bleeder as well as pumped the crap out of it.

I am hoping I dont have to pull it all apart again. I am trying to remember what fork I used, the one from the E34 ZF or the E36 Getrag one but I cant recall.
