i think first you installed it upside down.. flip it 180deg and the vacuum grommet would be on the other side. Then, remove the spacer, you don't need it. Cut and retap the back so to shorten it by the length of the spacer and you won't have to remote mount your reservoir. That takes a dremel and opening up the existing holes diagonally just a bit more and it'll stay centered.

trust me. removing the bracket, shortening and re-tapping that rod is less work in the long run. its just there not interfering with anything. no lines to rot get pulled or leak. looks more stock and hidden but yet. done saying it. good luck with swap bra ; |No more e30s for me.
