I'm trying to find a member/shop on that does s52 swaps. I think the shop's in NE?

I just got a pretty sweet deal on an e30. (Pics in a few hours)

    86, 325e 270k, $1500.

Im coming from an 03 540, so more power is needed (duh!)

I seem to remember some guy on here (or maybe it was e30tech?) that said his shop (maybe in New England or New Hampshire) did GREAT s52 swaps....

Id love to take a cross country road trip in my car, and was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a shop that can do an AMAZING job swapping an engine in to me blk/blk coupe.

Im currently in NorCal, and would drive anywhere along either coast to get this done.

Thanks for any and all input!!

e30 m3 five lug with coilovers and upgraded swaybars and such plus labor, yeah, that could be accurate.

There are adapters, that will set you back about $400 or so, then overfenders, that will set you back another $400 plus paint, so you could run them for ~$1000, but you might as well sell those and get a set of 4 lug wheels.

Also, I'm opening a BMW shop in eastern Idaho if you wanted a drive, but I'm thinking a few days would be needed.

Hmmm seller is smogging it before we complete sale and it didnt pass. Im thinking maybe I can offer her 1k (from 1500) cash and just worry about smog later?
I read some stuff about getting a PO box in oregon and having the registration forwarded

Don't do that, do it right. If it were me, I'd keep looking, find a late model that passes smog. Then get OBDI s52 swap, and tell the BAR guys it's an OBDI s50. They won't know the difference. Then if you were to have issues, your car wouldn't be breaking the law.

Legal is best, but illegal doesnt mean wrong or bad imo.

I think the smog fix will be easy; it seems the muffler isnt properly attached or something like that.

Otherwise I think I know a guy who knows a guy...

And when your new project becomes subject to impound, you'll think differently.

California isn't a place to screw around, they will ticket, impound and crush your project.

Hello, I am a smaller shop in the richmond area that specializes in M5*/S5* swaps. Along with 6 speed swaps and engine management trickery.

I have attached some photos of some recent work.

Full ABS Relocation to the battery tray along with mounting for the stock E36 airbox to be mounted into the E30 chassis. Its standard on all of our CA swaps. No loss of ABS while being 100% CA compliant. This car is also running our custom mounting for the E46M3 6 speed in the E30 Chassis. Utilizes our adapters and the stock E30 trans brace.

The other photo is an S50 in an E30 (Duh!) running a stock E36 airbox. (Deleted ABS) Mounted to a 330i 6 speed running our custom 6 speed mounting, carrier, and shifter. This also uses the stock E30 transmission mount but custom backplate and track adapters for the E30.

My personal car is a 97 Z3 with an S50 running in full OBD2 skirting with a 330i 6 speed mounted behind it. Also running an in house built 3.46 40% lockup 3 disc LSD high pre-load. We modified the frame to accept a dual ear diff cover from the E36 along with a full re-construction of the subframe.

Also wanganstyle is running our custom 6 speed kit for the M20 transmission.

Also we are just starting a high compression 2.8L engine build going into our 4 door E36 shop frame running M Parallels and a Getrag 260.

Currently we are putting an S52 into an E30 M3 if you wanted to come to the shop and check out the engine build and our setup.

We are located very close to you and we are at the shop M-Sat - 10-6.
