Just got finished putting her through the ringer.

Seems like the engine is VERY strong, but that the suspension needs MAJOR work.

Im thinking I should just do a 5 lug swap, but only if that really replaces the majority of my suspension (I dont know if it does).

Also, the current muffler needs to be replaced, since I plan on doing an s52 swap, does it matter what exhaust/catalytic converter that I purchase?

The E30 M3 5 lug is really the only "proper" 5 lug. The E36 5 lug ends up with not enough caster. I did it on my E30 and I would never do it again.

The 5 lug is nice for wheel choice, and large brakes however large, and I mean LARGE brakes can be had for the 4x100 setup.

If the car is passing smog right now but it needs a muffler I would just do the cheapest route possible to keep it on the road. You are going to need to run the E36 exhaust, from a 325, 328, or M3. Custom down-pipes have to be made, the mid pipe gets shortened, along with the rear muffler section.

I have a muffler and cat section for your E car if you wanted it. It just came off a running car that we stripped down and recycled.
        Past Car : E30 S50 6 Speed 5 Lug 3.73
Current : Z3 S50 OBD2 (Smog Legal) 6 Speed BBS RN Dual Ear Diff

I will send you a PM.

What needs do you have for your suspension? Weekend warrior? DD?

That decision will choose everything for you. I love the love the low corner weight of the E30. You really lose that when you convert to 5 Lug.
