    c104

    Hi,
I have an 88 m3 that I just completed the s50 swap. Everything works great but I have a defective speedometer as I removed the instrument cluster and saw a fried resistor on the speedo. Anyways, I do have the project orca cd that helped me through the process. I need to hook up the tach and it mention the c104 in the glove box. I have searched and searched and have not been able to find it. I know I can also get it from behind the instrument cluster but I don't know in which color connector and what color wire. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

skip that glove box c104 signal wire

i did the same thing with my first conversion. i ran the signal off the back of the cluster. but after spending some time with the wiring diagrams, there is an easier solution.

at the c101 connector, the tachometer signal comes from the e36 harness (pin20 blk wire) and goes to the e30 chassis (pin 9 blk wire).

just for reference, the e36 dme does need the vehicle speed signal from the speedo. if the speedo is fried, im not sure if its getting the signal. at the c101 connector, the vehicle speed signal comes from the e30 chassis (via pin14 blk/wht) and go to the e36 dme (via pin14 blk/wht).

    cheers, jason
