    Stripped Bolt removal?

I was wondering if theres a way to remove it, it's stripped and I can't get the damn thing off. Any suggestions on how to get it off? I'm trying to change the diff.

If you can slip a nut cracker around it, that might work. Craftsman makes a decent one. Other than that, grind it off with a dremel. You'll have to replace the bolt/stud or whatever. I'm not sure if that's applicable in your situation though.

edit: n/m looks like a hex bolt or something. goodluck with that one.

use the next size up american hex and see if you can hammer it in. those bolts are a pain in the ass though. i always make sure to clean the holes out good before i try to take them out

I had something similar to this but mine was on the clutch pressure plate.... what i did was spray lots of PB Blaster and let it sit for a long time then used locking pliers. got a real good grip on it and that bad boy came loose. i tried using a larger hex size but that didnt give me any luck

Oh man, I'll just leave it at that...

Get your self a file, pneumatic, or dremel; and grind two flats on the sides of the bolt. Protect the boot if you don't want to damage it, and soak it in a penetrating lube. Use your head man, be creative.

                  ^no clue
I had the same thing happen to me, it is easiest to get in there with a dye grinder or dremel and cut the head off, when you remove all of the other bolts and start lowering the diff, the "pin" that is left will slip right off. You can then get the rest of it out with a vice grip and PB Blaster

Since the bolt is already trashed, big vice grips.

or make two flat spots so you can get a wrench around it.

Cut the head off with a cut off wheel or dremel. Remove the rest of the bolts. Drop the axle to the side. Use vise grips to get it out. Done.

Get a bolt extractor from Sears. Looks like this
