I bought a parts E30 that already had an M50 swapped in (which will be going into my LeMons car), and it's using this brake booster:

Unfortunately the previous owner of the car didn't know where it came from. I can't find any markings or numbers other than an Ate logo on the rubber boot. It looks an E21 booster from what I've seen. Opinions?
They did tell me that it seemed like they weren't getting full brake assist. If this is an E21 booster, I know that they give less power assist than the E30 booster, but is there any way to test this off the car to see if it's working properly?
Given this report from the previous owner, I was leaning towards running the stock booster and just elongating the firewall holes and moving it over, but I have been doing some research and have found that some people have run into issues with the pedal binding or getting stuck due to the pedal rod being at a non-ideal angle.
Given that this will be the brake setup I will be running my E30 race car for a non-stop 24 hour race, I don't want to leave anything to chance!
