Weird cooling issue, best bleeding method?

Having a strange cooling/temp issue on the M50 car, bringing it back from the exhaust shop on Friday, the temp climbed almost all the way into the red, then fell back down to just above half, and then continued to climb back to red and fall, but not at even intervals.

I bled the system (M42 radiator) after we dropped the motor back in, but I have a feeling it might not be fully bled and still have some air in the system. I'm trying to figure out what the best method is, every thing I find is conflicting information. I didn't have the front end lifted up before, but beyond that, I don't remember exactly what I did. Suggestions?

Make sure the front of the car is raised. Turn the heat to high to open the valve to the heater core. Keep the blower off or you'll just cool it down and fuck with the thermostat.

I just found your write-up on M42Club, thanks Ken.

Appears to be all back to normal now, it's back to going to just under the halfway mark, which is where it usually sat before. Took it on a few spirited runs up and down a back road, and it didn't get hot really at all.

Get rid of the M42 rad... ;)

Front of car up, and lift radiator up as high as you can above the motor and bleed using bleed screw/revs at 2500...
