Motor is in and I decided not to cut anything. I was a little concerned about welding skills so I just used G260 selector and with the z4 shifter it will work out fine. Im just worried how the 4.10 will feel with the m50? I have an open 3.73 resealed and all but.....i dont want to give up the LSD....Comment

People piss and moan about high revs on the freeway, but if you actually do the math, the difference between a 3.73 and a 4.10 is about 10%.
That's going to FEEL 10% torquier - which is good.
It also means that at any given speed, you will spin 10% higher RPM. 10% ain't much. That means, say, 80 mph is 3700 RPM with a 4.10, and would be around 3400 RPM with the 3.73. Not that big a deal. Might be less of a deal depending on wheel and tire size.
Go 4.10. Shift 10% sooner. Accelerate 10% faster. Enjoy your engine 100% more.

No Need to modify shift linkage parts BMW already makes them.
25111220759 Shifter Arm
25111220835 Shift Rod
They fit perfectly and place the shift rod exactly where it is supposed to be and at the correct angle. The only place I was able to find them was getbmwparts.com but others may have them.Comment

I think I own this car now. FWIW, I've tracked it 6 times with NASA now with the replacement g240, and it hasn't let me down. I've heard they will break at 300 ft.lbs for sure absolutely every time 100%. So it may be hit and miss on motors below that. I'm upgrading to a cammed s52 soon here so I will probably opt for 5 or 6 speed ZF.Comment

Mounting the E30 CSB backwards in my car created some funky angles. I put it in the stock orientation and everything lined up nicely with both halves of the D/S. Can't wait to see how my 3.64 torsen feels behind the M50TU/G240 combo.Comment
