Clarification needed please, and cruise control?

Again, I have spent the past several weeks researching the swap, and its coming down to just putting the motor in now. All the Qs I either cant find the answers to, or need clarification on. Any help greatly appreciated!

First of all, my E30 was an automatic, and of course Ill be putting a manual in it. What exactly do I have to do to keep the cruise working? All the manual swap articles basically dont even keep cruise and its something I need.

Where is a decent place to mount my electric fan thermostat? The only place I see is on the back of the head.

In the first attached picture, BMW calls it a thermostat, but I have no idea where it goes or what it actually does.

The next one is what I think is the temp sensors. which one is which, and what has to be replaced with the e30 one and what wiring mods need to be done?

And last but not least, does anyone have any good pics of how to run the engine harness for the DME throught the firewall?

the first pic is a thermostat for the throttle body heater. i cut mine off and routed the hoses on the other end to recirculate. i have the bimmerworld smooth 3.5 elbow.
the second picture. replace the second sensor, the one to the right or closest to the firewall. assuming its a m50tu then it should thread right in.
mount the thermo in the stock spot. if you change the fan then wire it to the stock wiring.
youll wanna run the 6131136427282 thermo.
you have to cut the metal band off and take the screw out. slide the black cover of and it will fit through the hole. put the screw back and put a zip tie where the band was

For retaining the cruise, an early E36 cable 65 71 1 387 004 is fitted to the E30 cruise control unit.

why do you want to route another thermostat for your aftermarket electric fan? just use the temp switch on the right side of the radiator.

As far as electrically, is there anything I need to do to the car to keep cruise?

Thats what I was thinking about doing, but I didnt know if some place on the engine would be better than in the side of the rad
