Oh, nice write up. With color coding and everything. Damn that's nice. Thanks for that info!!Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I'm assuming that is the wiring diagram for '86 and up m20s, correct?
('84 and '85 had a slightly different wiring diagram.)
if anybody has the different wiring diagrams for the 318i(s), and early 325i I'd love to put it up on my website.
PM me please.
Thanks,
Addis

Yeah now I see...you're that much closer to being a pimp.
Impressive. Um, but your first attempt at the wire harness puts you down two rungs on the pimp scale....that one was a doozy.Last edited by joshh; 11-14-2005, 09:47 AM.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

wiring for the non-vanos is the same, the vanos system lies in the ecu and wiring harness, it has nothing to do with body electronics, or the wiring bridge you're making.
As far as the m42 differences... I don't know. I'm working on finding out though. Hopefully somebody can chime in on this sooner than I can.

wait... how are you doing this wiring project?
Are you splicing the acutal engine harness into the main body harness? Are you using an e36 chasis plug and an e30 wiring harness plug? I'm a bit confused as to why you're worried about the colors of the wires on your engine harness. Worry about pin numbers instead.
I'll go to storage today and see if I can find my cds with different plug layouts on it.
