Just picked up S50 E30 swap from shop and have questions...

    Just picked up S50 E30 swap from shop and have questions...

    Car feels pretty good but has a couple of issues...

    -it has a 944 booster, but the brakes suck, takes allot of effort before the brakes work and the pedal is slow to come back up

    -while sitting at idle the revs bounce around 500 rpm and is rough, if it idles too long it throws a CEL, but after a few minutes of driving the CEL goes out

    -the custom exhaust they did involved using obd1 exhaust manifold mated up to stock 318 cat and rear exhaust section, is this too restrictive?
    '91 318is, S50 swap, Bilsteing/H&R race, Recaro SRD, etc.

    Hey dude;

    I have the first two problems with my car.

    The brake booster may not be adjusted properly. You can twist the clevis in and out to adjust the start of braking.

    As for the rough idle, could be spark plugs, dirty injectors or a pile of other things. Give it a GOOD tune up and see if that solves anything. (Like, BMW Inspection II)

      sounds like you may be having this issue. its on my to do list http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=192533. check at the relay to see if you have 12v going to the heater
