Same here, youd have to convince me to part with it.Originally posted by bmw332iFor the right price, you could have mine. But I'd probably get flamed worse than Jordo when he tried to sell his car for $14k or whatever, if I asked for what it was worth.Im now E30less.

I'd hate to come accross as a lazy fuck (thanks addissimo) but I don't have the time or resources to do this.
I guess I could work on it weekends (the kids take up most of my time - and I wouldn't trade it for the world) but there are a couple of issues that would make it difficult:
-Stationed in Puerto Rico - I'd have to crate and ship everything if I got it from the States.
-I have access to tools/shop/lift, but never tried to tackle a job like this.
-If I did p/u a completed swap, I'd rather get it from the East Coast. Largest ports to ship cars to PR are from NJ and FL.
Thanks,

Shipping here sucks! I crunched some numbers real quick:
I already have a '91 318i but I'd like to get something in better shape (body) to have as a swapmobile. So, i'd probably hang on to the 318i and get another E30, preferebly 90 + IS body. Color is not an issue, as long as paint is good and no rust.
So, if I p/u a local E30, it's going to cost me at least $3K +. Low miles but $$$.
Then, if I start shipping engine/tranny swap packages, like from Eurodepot in NH for example, that's going to be the cost of the goods + crate + freight charges to PR (oh, almost forgot: Sales tax in NH + "arbitrio" in PR, which is a local tax). Then of course, I will run into missing parts issues or other swap problems which would mean order more parts from the US and add more shipping charges.
Of course, there will be down time and I will only be able to tackle it part time.
So, I've made the decision to purchase a turn key project. If I can get something $4-$6K in the US, that will only incur another $1k in getting it on a boat to PR. Registartion is not too $$$ so I think I'd be better off going this route. And the best part will be that it is already completed without down time and more track time for me!!!
So please, send me PM's w/ info on your cars that are for sale (I know I said only East coast but I could head further our West).
Thank you very much
Salud!

New Hampshire has no sales tax.
I know the Eurodepot crew personally and very good people to deal with!
Good luck and Happy modding!!
