Exhaust studs?

Can I just use some grade 8 bolts? Or is there something special about the studs.

I wouldn't cheap out on something like exhaust studs. Order the kit from Turner Motorsports, you get all studs, and new nuts, too.

Or just look up the part numbers on RealOEM and order from the dealer, BMA, Blunt, etc.

True Value in Brookfield had some black oxide coated M6x1.25 (I believe) studs for his M10 that we were working on over the weekend. Just what we needed. They also had plain uncoated studs but those would be more prone to rusting and brittle failure. I use blue threadlocker on the threads in the head and a small dab of anti-seize + a wave washer for the nut.

Just for info. Replaced a broken stud and luckily I work a a dealership equip with oxy cetaline. Major heat needed to remove old studs broken or not.

Our local ACE Hardware has various automotive studs as well if you need them in a hurry.

my motor had the turner kit in it when i got it. but the studs had been in there awhile. half of the studs actually came out when i took the old manis off. guess i just got lucky
