    Cylinder 4 misfire

I thought I would post this up here and see if any of you have had the same issue.

93 m50, misfire on cylinder #4. I have done a compression test, all good. I have checked and swapped around coilpacks, no change. I am getting spark however. When it first started, number 4 and 6 were misfiring, changing plugs got number 6 to fire as it should, no effect on 4. At first, number 4 was bone dry, so I swapped in a new injector and now have SOME gas on the plug when pulled, but only a VERY small amount. I also soaked the cylinder with motor oil, hoping that maybe the original injector had gotten stuck open and washed the cylinder out, no change.

Any ideas? I have followed the wiring back in the engine bay and the wiring to that injector seems to be fine. I am beginning to think dme? I have yet to do a voltmeter test on that injector to make sure that I am getting enough power.

Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

That is a good question. I have switched the coil out with know good ones and the problem does not follow the coil, it stays with the cylinder. When I checked for spark, it seemed to be pretty strong from the eye test. I also followed all the wiring back in the engine bay from that coil and found nothing alarming. I am pretty certain its fuel as there is only a trace of gas on the plug when I pull it.

You dont even need a noid light. Use a long handle screw driver and hold it against the injector and put the handle to your ear, you can hear it fire.

I had a similar problem. It ended up being that when i put the injector harness back on , one of the pins for the injector bent. So it wasnt making the connection.
