I used my vanos m50 harness that ran 3 months ago and 413 dme out of the same car crank no start, checked powers and ground side by side with my buddies e36 (93 325i) all powers and grounds are in appropriate locations, got the autologic from work for a day(boss willing) everything looks fine in actual values but in the power supply voltage it reads 0.00V, so i figured something in my harness got damaged in the 3 months of storage in my garage so i got another obd1 vanos harness with 413 dme hooked everything up the same and same result, i have tried 3 dme's in the car now all 413 reds and same crank no start, checked power into dme from harness via backprobe and 12.34v key off engine off checked the switched power supply via back probe same 12.34v key on engine off, the engine grounds are all on as well i used both off the engine mount arms this time vs just one or the other, I dont have fuel pump nor spark, dme relay is new and working, im going to check fuel pump relay today, ive gone over every fuse 4x's every connector too many times to count, im stuck. any help from 24v guys would help, i have had 2 obd1 cars now and this car was a running obd1 car 3 months ago that i put together i am just out of ideas

so do you get a cel when the key is on. and have you checked the crank position sensor. iirc the dme needs to see engine rotation before you get spark or fuel.
i also remember reading somewhere if you put a different cps in it then you have to change the pulley also to match the sensor. not sure if thats part of the obd1 swap or not. im running a s50 so i didnt have to do any of that.

ok so upon further testing i found spark no fuel, found power @ injectors but the dme is not sending ground side im assuming by the diagrams i have, Any info or insight at all would help this makes countless hours and a now 3rd obd1 vanos car compared side by side with for checking relays switching of powers with"God created turbo lag to give V8's a chance" Taylor D.
