    M50 Cam timing question??

To all the m50 guys out there: I installed a new intake cam on my m50b25, service information says wen installing the intake cam sprocket to center the bolts that come from the cam in the sprocket bores. I put everything back together per service info but now I cannot remember whether or not I centered the sprocket when installing. I've turned the engine over plenty of times and the timing checks out (used cam blocks etc). If I did not center the intake sprocket would the vanos not fit on properly or would the intake cam not be timed properly? I believe everything is right but now I am second guessing that sprocket.

Take it apart, your overall timing will be off.

You will get a vanos jammed code along with possibly bent valves if you advanced it too far.

Yeh, you will have problems, since if the exhaust side was set in the middle properly, the intake will have less movement in one of those directions.

As jrdeamicis said, your VANOS will jam up, you will experience blow by and at worst you may (unlikely it's off THAT much) bend a valve.

Follow the Pelican Parts guide closely and you should be fine.

REMEMBER: Be safe and have fun is Rule Number 1.
