    Will a 402 ECU work in a VANOS M50B25?

I'm starting to suspect a bad ECU in my M50 swapped E30. It will get worse and worse power and will bog down all the time.

Then I'll unplug the ECU and it'll be right as rain again.

My car has a 413 red label right now, but I've got a spare 402 red label from an M50B25 (non-vanos).

Would this ECU work in my car? Or is 413 the only one that will work in a VANOS engine?

413 red or silver label. the sensors are completely different between the two engines. proper running will NOT occur.

402/403/405 are nonVanos only. They will not work for a vanos engine. Rather it may start but vanos will obviously not work.

what about the other way around, 413 in M50NV? I'm troubleshooting some odd running in my car, and I've been using my 413 in it for the last two weeks, but that doesn't mean I should be.
