    m50 swap engine harness questions

First of all this is the first time doing this so dont really know a whole lot!! :( I am learning alot on these forums though but there still a few things that aren't quite clear to me!

    My engine is from a 1994 325iC so i believe m50tu?
First off i only got the engine out of the car nothing else, not even ecu or anything. The car was an automatic so maybe thats what im not understanding!
I know how to splice the harness to the car harness but trying to figure out which round adapter on the engine harness is the one that needs spliced, there is two of them.

    Any Advice? FIGURED THAT OUT!!!-----------------

EDIT: I have 4 wires for the starter and only three places to put them on the starter, i think i must have an early model starter cause i think some of these only had 3. I there something i can do with the 4th one or do i need a new starter??

Well the connector in the first pic needs to be connected to the ecu #413 as for the second connector I would NOT cut my harness if you are not sure what you are doing. You can create an adapter using parts from the junk yard and if you screw up not much is damaged.

agree with Tico, if you are unsure what you are doing, you would be best served by sending the parts off to one of the entities that specializes in this sort of thing. IIRC Dave Markert (328Junkie) does just this sort of thing, for a fairly reasonable price
I saved 15% on my Bimmer parts by switching to ...

This pic best serves but I'm sure there's better ones out there with a basic search

The big power wires double up on the post. One goes to B+(and fuse box on the e36 harness), one goes to the alternator

The other two smaller connections only fit one and one on the two other posts

Hey thanks for getting back! My problem is though that there is only three hookups on the starter! I have an 87 325 and i know the two big one go to one but there is only a connection for one small on?

My starter only has the 10mm one! What exactly does the wire that hooks to the 8mm do!? do i need this or not! Or do i need to get a new starter!
