Peake R5/FCX-II pull codes after swap?

I bought a Peake R5/fCX-II to read any codes that may be stored in the DME before I get my emissions test done. Problem is that when I plug it in, it doesn't turn on or anything. Have any of you other swap guys used that Peake tool to pull codes? Is it even possible to do after the swap?

Just want to make sure that the key is in the ignition and is in the on position, the spot right before start up. Or something with the new wiring doesnt work with bringing up codes.

I can read faults in my car using the GT1, going in under a '92 E36 325i. Never used the peake tool, but I would guess that if the GT1 works, it will too.

Yeah Im putting the key in the run positon, the lights on the dash light up and the blower fan turns on.

Maybe I have a wiring issue, anybody willing to look at my diagram I used and compare it to what they did?

Thank you everyone for all your help and input. Especially those that looked over my wiring harness diagram I made. Well I pulled my harness and checked for continuity and put it back in the car. When I put it back in the car I'm now getting power at Pin 16 on the Diagnostic connector when in the run position. I was able to pull and clear the 2 codes stored in the DME. Oxygen sensor and Vehicle speed sensor, both from when I ran the car without those connected. I've took the car out for a 30 mile ride and no codes were stored. Looks like I'm ready to take it in for the emissions test, if it fails then I know its just the catalytic convertor. I'll keep an eye on the wiring. I don't know if I have a damaged wire in the harness or it's possible the C101 connector wasn't seeded together correctly. Since this is an early E30 I have the rectangle connector, not the nice round C101 connector that seeds together better found in the later years.
