    Rev Hang

    Hey all,

My M50tu seems to exhibit excessive rev hang. It is most apparent when the motor has come to temp.

After a cold-start the rev hang is minimal to nonexistent but after getting some heat in her it is much, much worse.

Any ideas? Should I start by checking all the vac hoses?

I'd check all vacuum hoses but also check your tps sensor and your maf as well, had a similar problem, if unplugging a sensor doesn't affect cars idle performance chances are, there's your problem. Just some things to look for hope someone else can chime in to help if those don't work, good luck man

Mine will do this, but it's because the throttle plate doesn't close all the way. The motor sat for a while and it seems something seized up in there. Maybe make sure the throttle plate is physically closed off?

My M20 did this in the past, and I agree wit the guy above me. Get some throttle body cleaner the flap inside the throttle body gets sticky and oily causing it not to shut properly.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. After cleaning the throttle body the rev hang is greatly reduced. Only problem now is the heavy flywheel I'm running :D
