    S50 swap exhaust question

Ok got my swaped E30 running great. Now onto the exhaust. I have S52 Exhaust manifolds running into the stock S50 midsection . My question is I just picked up the rear section which is the muffler from the S50 E36 M3 . Is this going to be a direct bolt on affair, or is there some modding involved ?

to fit to the midsection, it will bolt right up. To fit in your car, I think it might need modification.

However-- I would try my hardest to get an OBD2 (s52) midsection, they flow significantly better than the obd1 midsection.

it's too late for the S52 midsection, the S50 came with my swap , and is already installed.

meh, they bolt in exactly the same way, so down the line you can swap in with no effort involved.

I used the S/M50 cats and a Remus E36 M3 cat back exhaust. I had a local muffler shop do the final install for me. It required some cutting and rewelding to get it to fit to the E30 chassis better.

What rear sections do people usually run on s5x e30's?

This is the exact same setup I am running....everything is roughly bolted up, but it obviously needs to be reworked slightly to get it snug against the bottom of the car. How much did it run you for the shop to do the work?

On a side note: the Remus looks pretty sick under there, but it seems to be very mellow and stock-sounding, even at high rpm......I figured it would be a lot louder. :?
