    E30 M52 OBD1 - Crank, No Fuel/Pump

    Found my problem...

The chips in the DME only work one way... Haha. Please note the indent on one side, I failed to notice that.

M52 open headers is such a beast.

Going to make sure I didn't somehow mix up the Cam and Crank sensor cables, maybe at lunch I can swap those around real quick. I doubt I mixed them up though, I labeled everything very well.

      UPDATE:

So the problem is the ground... It says the wire goes into DME port 1...

My buddy says it grounds when it gets signal from the Cam Sensor... Well how does the fuel pump prime then...?

Anyone know what's up? And no, my Cam and Crank sensors are not mixed up, they can't be.

No spark, no injection, no fuel pump... Pretty sure I have some crazy ground issues with the DME.

Make sure the DME is grounded... Touch the actual DME against a grounding point, see if that works. That was my issue.

I was testing my grounds in the DME connector, and I am having some grounding issues. So tomorrow I will be tracing wires it looks like.

            For instance, 15 isn't grounding...

do you get a cel. or is that even hooked up. if its not hooked up then run a test light and see if pin 8 (grey iirc) of the x20 grounds out with key on not cranking. that should tell you if your dme has power or not. i had no fuel and it was because my dme i got from a bfc guy was dead from the moment i got it. swapped a new one in and bam. fired right up.i also had a cel then too. but also make sure your engine harness is grounded on the pass side shock tower. and it never hurts to ground the dme screw. or at least mount it. if its not mounted it wont ground either

                So I figured it out...

I put my new tune (chip) in backwards... Haha.

A day of ripping the harness apart looking for issues to spend a minute to switch the chip around... Just glad I got it figured out, she sounds like a beast. Now to sort out my post Throttle Body vacuum leak.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but the pump only sends fuel when the engine is actually turning over.

I had no fuel until I actually tried to start it. We freaked out and ripped everything apart for no reason. :P
