If so, you just need the pickup, and you're better off just buying it new. IIRC, its less than $30.
This guy is telling me that i only need the pick up , someone please explain because every list i have seen and from local gus who have done the swap tell me i need the sump from a 5-series m50.

You seriously need to read the 40+ page thread. All of you're topics are covered in there as much as it sucks to read, the rest of us have.

I have read it twice, and did 3 weeks just reading and searching visiting all your most common sites over 20 times .

I got the sump mixed up with the pump and thus where my mistake came in , i am just frustrated because this is my first engine project and still learning new things.

Turns out i already had the 5-series sump aka oil level sending unit or whatever it is really called. I just need the damn oil pickup and i am good to go. When i think of sump first thing that comes to mind is a dry sump ,one that sits in the back seat of a race car. So visualizing a sump or trying to find where the sump was on the s50 is hard since diagrams on the internet do not call it a sump.

I am 21 and still learning here so bare with me.

I'm not trying to get on you're ass entirely. I'm a bit flusterd about that thread as well.
As far as I can see, the questions you have asked are in that thread if I'm not mistaken. And there is some confusion in that thread at times so I do understand.

You need the oil pick up, and oil pan from any 5-series with the m50 motor.

You're not done yet in that pic, bud... you need to take off the windage tray bolted to the block and take off the pickup support bracket for the e36 pickup that's bolted under the main cap bolts.
