    What booster is P+P?

What I want is a booster that:

    Bolts directly to the firewall
Needs no shortening/threading of the rod
Uses a non remote type brake reservoir.
I want to be able to use either the early 318, late 318 or iX master cylinder and its matching reservoir.

I'm currently running an iX booster that is crapping out on me. I had to remove the spacer that goes between the and firewall and drill two new holes to mount it up to make it clear the intake and for the brake res. fit behind the throttle body and intake boot.

... Don't hate lol but if you've already gone that far with the ix booster what's wrong with shortening and threading the rod? It's really super easy I did it last week no problems whatsoever

I know tons of guys do it, but I really don't like doing it that way. No real reason that I could explain. I did it the way I did the first time because I was scrambling to get the car done and was running out of time and money.

So you also ditched the spacer and redrilled the firewall to be able to use the stock reservoir and mount it closer to the firewall as well?

I took the spacer off, rethreaded the rod to M12, tapped the clip piece and nut to the same size. It gives you a TON more room and looks cleaner IMO. The holes on the firewall just had to be slotted slightly, not hacked out or anything. I haven't tried the reservoir yet as I was planning on using the 2002 remote set up before and have yet to get an ix res-- but with the motor in it looks like I won't have any problem clearing the intake at all, none of the master sits below any intake pieces. I'll take a pic tomorrow of the clearance.

iX res will clear fine without the adapter piece installed. Keep it simple and use the iX res instead of the remote mount.

Yep, that's how mine is set up. The E34 540i booster that 328ijunkie mentioned in his OBD2 S50 is the same dimensions except that it has the vacuum port on the other side. My firewall is already slotted for the ix booster so the e34 will bolt right up without having to retap or cut the rod. Plus, according to blunttech a new one is under $200, compared to the iX booster which is listed at $799...
