    Looking for engine

    hello, im looking to swapping my e30 325i into a s50b32, how much will i be able to get one for? and how hard is it swapping it?

          Please do some reading before posting "how hard is it to swap".

          Also, are you sure you're looking for a S50B32? Or do you mean S50B30 or S52B32?

              The US never got that motor so you will have trouble finding one. Expect to pay around $5000 for one and then even more to get it running.

              You should probably just do an S54 as they are alot easier to get parts for in the US.

                Decide between an S52B32 or S54B32. The former should run you around $2000, the S54, more like $3500, both with the DME and harness.


                The S50 is an obscure, expensive, european engine, and it's OBD1. OBD2 is the way to go.

                  In the US we did not get that engine.

                  The 1995 M3 came with the S50B30.
                  The 96-99 M3 came with the S52B32.

                    If you've never done a swap before and are asking this in depth, it'll probably be easier for you to go with an e36 motor rather than an s54. Read all the stickies and google e30 dohc wiki and read all that. Many other motor options available as well.
