I have a 1989 325i that currently has a bad M50 NV in it. I have a donor 86 325e that was M50TU swapped that I will be using the motor out of for my 89. My question is, can I use the harness that is currently in my car or the vanos harness out of the 86? I know I will have to modify the vanos harness, but I don't know the difference between the modifications needed to do the swap in the 86 e compared to an 89 i. Any help in appreciated. :D

Replace the harness. Youll be doing ALOT of wiring if you dont. Vanos, HFM, knock sensors, etc are all different. And off the top of my head im not even sure if the ECU connectors are the same pinout wise.

Ah, IC now. Well youll have to do a bit of rewiring as the C101 for the ETA is missing a ton of stuff vs the late models. Alot of stuff is run through the glovebox.
