Cooling system question regarding race setup (bypass heater core, etc)

As title, I'm setting up my e30 with an OBDI M52. I'm having trouble finding information regarding how to run my cooling setup. I will be bypassing the heater core and the throttle body.

My main question is: how the hell should I run my coolant hoses to make sense. I have the two ports on the thermostat housing, the tube going into the front of the timing case, and the port off the back of the cylinder head (yet I have seen various people block this off). I'm wondering what is the most reliable/best setup and was experiences (sexual or not) you have had.

Or, if you bypassed your heater core...how did you run your lines?

You can either block them off or loop them. There seems to be some argument about which one is best, but both work.

The smart place to ask this is the bf.c track forum.

Very well, thanks. I'll try BFC and see what those guys have come up with. I'm at the point in my build that I have to order those hoses/parts...just wondering what other's experiences have been.

        Thanks again

i blocked the port from the back of the head, removed the spider hose, sealed the port for the TB hose and ran a hose form the back of the water pump to the expansion tank

the temp never passed the 1/2 mark sitting in traffic on a 90+ degree day. using e36rad and fan clutch
