    M50 ODB-I to OBD-II reader?

Hey guys. I have an OBD-II reader and sad I can't use it on the E30.
Is there any way to atleast get basic readouts, codes, maybe revs and AFR? There are OBD-BMW round plug adapters out there sold cheap, just not sure if they're any good.

The plug adapters work fine for OBD2 cars (I use one) and they only cost 10 or 15 bucks but the reader will not work for your car. I use Carsoft 6.5 and that will work for your car but it is Windows based and requires an adapter of its own. It however will give you real time revs, temp, vanos timing, fuel trims and a bunch of other stuff. There are also combo OBD1 and OBD2 readers out there but I have no experience with them at all.

Mine is a chinese wifi obd and I pair it with my iPhone where I have two car apps.
So far, every car has popped up fine, some cars just don't offer certain specs.

I'll try one of the adapters, costing so little I'm sure I'll find some use for it.

Ebay has those for 5 bucks shipped so it's not a big risk although I don't think it will work. I also have one of those blue tooth obd2 and the Torque application for Android phones, it works really well and makes a pretty good virtual dashboard too. Good luck hope it works but if not carsoft 6.5 is only 40 bucks on ebay.
