    M52+SunbeltCams+Boost??

Is it possible to get ahold of a M52B28 and put a sunbelt cam (280/272) in it it with a new valve train and port n polished head? Along with a MLS .140 HG for boost and maybe look forward to about 400 hp on a Hx35? Of course with tuning and the works?

i am actually working on mine now. im not getting the cam or the gasket. instead im planning on o-ringing the head to see how that works. I will probably need a bigger turbo too. going for 400

i'll let you know if its possible or not

Radical cams like that are not suited for boost. Save your money on the cams and port and polish and get a real turbo and a good chip tune from a reputable tuner for your set-up. TRM sells a kit with tune MAF and injectors that works well as do several other tuners. If you want to learn a bit about boost lurk a bit over on the Bfc FI section lots of turbo knowledge there. The M52 is a good starting point for a boosted 24v; more meat between the cylinders for better HG sealing.

Okay cool beans, I didn't know if that came would be a good idea, but yeah your right for the price of the cams I could spend that 1400 on a good ball bearing Garrett, and would S50 cams just be good for a boost set up atleast?

You think wrong, please don't post misinformation on a subject you have no experience with.

OP, go with s50 or s52 cams, you wont need more then that for the numbers you're going for. Also, the factory head flows extremely well, so don't waste your money on a port and polish. For the turbo go with a gt3582r. With 15 psi and a good tune you'll be close to/above 450whp.

Okay cool, well I found a turbo to use its off a old Chevy diesel truck it's a Borge Warner GM-4 IHI turbo? And opinions about it? It's just needs a rebuild and I'm only really shooting for 12lbs and see what I make off of that.

Another question with going M52, since it's OBD2 can I just keep my current M50b25 harness and just plug up everything to the M52?

Well I'm happy to say that I just got off the phone with Miller and rambled off my setup to them and they agreed with me on the turbo n motor, and they filled me in on the WAR chip and blow through Maf, injectors n base tune. And said my goals are easily achievable with my setup.

The injectors aren't very expensive in their kit although the siemens 60lb are used with TRM, Miller etc.

Like said before the gt3582 would be good, you will need more boost from the holset to get into the 400's which might be pushing it on 93.

Bimmerforums Forced Induction is a good resource to, mostly 24v setups there with lots of experience and good data.
