well for the extra $ for the s50 opposed to the m50 you could have buy a m50 and turbo it and have more hp than a s50.

or if you are rich turbo a s50 :)

The price difference is slightly north of $2000. You can get an M50 for around $700-800. An S50 runs around $2700.

Where's this magical $2000 turbo kit?

Not to detract from the FI guys, but a custom turbo is not just choosing a turbocharger, a manifold, and blow off valve. There are other parts and costs involved, not to mention making it work great will not be something you can do in a week.

with a turbo you will encounter more problems and issues to deal with then a stock s50. with a stock s50 you have the relibiliaty of bmw and you are able to use it as a 365 daily driver.
i want to stay with a lightly modded or stock motor to keep the car reliable and trouble free.
