Engine moves around quite a bit. Is this with the 5 series rubber mounts?

I had the exact opposite reaction. That doesn't look like much movement at all.

Dave I drive my swap pretty hard at times in daily traffic and want to do events to have fun slidding but am in fear of breaking something because she's my dd. Nice video. I send people your way when I can though I work at the dealership closest to ya. Hope you're doing well.

You should see how much the new N20 moves from the factory

I guess I don't really have a frame of reference for how much movement is normal, but it does seem to be jumping around at ~2:12.

                  Thanks!
As far as your swap goes, i did mine for 10 cents on the dollar, way more cheap/ghetto than i could even consider doing to a customer swap (read: stock booster, G260, etc) and Ive done 5 events with it. I quit bringing tools two events ago cause i havent needed them. Only thing thats ever broken on the car sliding (besides tires) has been my ziptied in fan breaking loose and eating the wiring harness that runs along the front of the car lol. :D

Oh and theyre the swap mounts i sell (super secret E28's) ;)

As a rule, BMW has mounted their engines fairly solidly. Even with crappy E28 mounts while drifting, that engine was moving less than I have seen some motors move when the ignition was cut.

You obviously have never driven a 2002! I consider myself lucky if the motor stays in the same zip code as the chassis when i am driving hard.

I'm not sure if I've ever even seen inside an engine bay with an M10. (In person.) Given that most of the really waggly motors have been four pots, though... Not surprised. :)
