Can i just swap my m52 intake manifold for the m50 manifold and get the adapter silicone hose and call it a day or do i have to go through with the whole obd2 to obd1 conversion. im planning on installing 24# injectors and s52 cams. would i need a bigger throttle body or dif maf? any advice or critics is welcome thanks for reading:bow:

I'm running s52 cams and didn't bother upgrading to a bigger TB or maf.sigpic

im retaining obd2. i dont really know why everyone does obd1 swaps ive read like 5 STORY BOOK threads on it i still cant see obvious pro that outweigh labor :dot: im also in the process of collecting parts for my turbo build...i have intercooler and tial 44mm wastegate i got from friends, so before or by new years i hope to have turbo either bolted on or parts assembled. looking for 350hp not really leaning to 4 as to avoid engine mods-arps HG blah blah. so like 6-10 psi as a DD any help or parts is welcome too thankssigpic

if youre planning on going turbo, maybe consider obd1. I know TRM is working on obd2 turbo tuning but it's not popular yet (read: expensive).
also, if you're building an m52 with boost, skip the s52 cams. then use the money you saved to o-ring the block, get a new OE headgasket, and ARP head studs. that should be good for 10psi and 350hp on a quality tune (obd1 or obd2)

y'all best do some reading before digging in too deep.
o-ringing is a process in which an o-ring channel is cut into the block around each cylinder bore, and a length of copper wire is placed into. the resulting o-ring engages the headgasket for better sealing.
OE just means original equipment. don't get victor reinz. buy original BMW. also, MLS (multi-layered steel) head gaskets are okay in certain applications but it can be tricky to get them to seal.

if you are buying a real turbo setup the tuning is small potatoes in the equation.
OBD2 turbo = proper setup. Pay up to play.
obd1 +turbo is = flash back to 1995 for brains.......do you really need that ? it's almost 2013OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

this is the big deal. i know OBD2 is best. but as far as accesible turbo tuning, OBD1 is far more economical and convenient for most.
i was just throwing out an option for OP. obviously he is the one that needs to look at all sides of the argument and make a decision. and i personally think he has a lot of research to do.
