Is the M52 the most popular swap for the e30's? Also I heard that the 1999 323i has the M52. If I am wrong please correct. I am getting a wrecked 323i bmw on this Tuesday. Hopefully buying the car is not a mistake but it is also a 5 speed so that is a plus. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Board.

I just finished my m52 swap motor came from a 98 528i, it's a nice upgrade to the m20 and alil better then the m50. M30 is a popular swap as well but why put something as old back in ur car.

you got an m52tu, with dual vanos. you'd better be served with an m52b28, single vanos, iron block. they are robust and cheap and take to turbocharging well, if you want to get extreme.
as for the 323i, either don't buy it or take the trans and part out the rest.Comment

99 323is had a M52B25; 99 323i has the M52TUB25...
