    Fuel Gauge

    Okay, So I have a swapped 87 S52 with a MotoMeter gauge.

The fuel level indicator works in a strange way.

Half tank is empty and the little light comes on at half tank at this point the car is truly empty. In this information, the gas gauge is actually quite accurate so I won't be running out of gas anytime soon...

Me being OCD, i've decided i want to get this fixed. A very intelligent person on the forums suggested that I have two fuel sensors in the lines below my driver seat and the possbility is that one of them is broken and need replacement.

has anyone else had this issue before?

Sounds like a fuel level sender. It's under your rear, passenger seat yes.

Bentley has a great write up, or I'm sure you can find it on here.

Swap fuel gauges. Your 87 only has one sender, youre using a gauge from a 2 sender car. Ask me how i know (my drift car is also an 87)

          your problem is simple!
you need to swap only the fuel gauge (you need to open your cluster )
with one from a 4cylider model and will work just fine!
now you have a 6 cylinder cluster but a 4 cylinder fuel tank with one sender

Thanks for the information , After further discussion with others it appears that I may have a newer model gauge which means I need to find an older model fuel cluster to replace it with.
