Rad support and skid plate mods

Broke a m42 oilpan and motor mount tab off my sub frame earlier in the summer with a skid plate, it mostly just bent my front radiator support in so the pan was almost touching. I decided to improve the mounting situation and the strength of the plate itself during my 24v swap.

2x3 tube for the lower rad support
.5x.5 tube for the skid plate
I can jack the car up on the plate now with minimal deflection. The front edge of the plate had to be bent and additional holes drilled.

Bent up some 1/2in tube to reinforce the plate as best as possible after the motor was mounted.

    tigged it all in

this is an m42 skid plate, the m50 pan sits nicely between the bracing about 1/4in away from the plate.

Nice, that should give lots of protection.

Looks good! I am planning to get a Peerless skid plate in case I go off the track...

the peerless unit is definitely more robust, I would have got that if I hadn't already had a race skids one. My only gripe with his is that the reinforcement strips are on the bottom side.
