ICV and oil dipstick bracket - should I make some?

I just recently discovered that when you convert an OBD II engine to OBD I, you either get the OBD I wiring support with the metal bracket for the ICV, or you end up with the ICV hanging by the hoses and eventually shearing them. This leads to a vacuum leak which you weren't expecting, so you spend the best part of two days cleaning the MAF, the throttle body etc. before you take the ICV out and realise the hose is in three pieces. You then swear loudly at the mechanic who did the swap and decide you want a bracket. While you're there, you extend the bracket so that it holds the E34 oil dipstick as well. They will both get bolted to the manifold support, which already has two very handy bolt holes.
I finished the aluminium prototype and I'm about to have a small run made. Is there any interest or does everyone just buy the OBD I part from BMW?

    pics!

I had this problem, I'm sure others have as well.

I run : www.m50manifold.com kit. It bolts in and has the ICV perfectly mounted the way it should be. Dipstick i make a bracket for.

Well, with that kit, where do you mount the ICV? If you reuse the OBD II bracket (which I assume) you need to bolt it somewhere and the original mounting point... isn't there any more.
Option II is to use the OBD I wiring loom bracket, which is feasible but requires some mods to fit the S52, including moving the knock sensor in a way I'm not terribly keen on - not to mention it's a pain to do with engine in car and manifold bolted on.
        Could you clarify?

As to the bracket I came up with, I have an (ugly) aluminum prototype and a CAD drawing with a rendering. It's adjustable enough that one can position it as needed using two 10mm bolts with washers on the manifold support. The leftside 'ear' connects to the bracket on the oil dipstick. It may need slight bending depending on how your dipstick bracket is.

I'm not looking to make money on these, but a run of 10 is decidedly economical compared to having one made (I think 10 will run $20-25ea) and it does seem like an extant problem for those of us with an OBD I-converted engine, in an E30 or otherwise.

OBD2 manifold bracket has a support for the ICV. Just like factory :D

Yes, but you can't use that with an OBD I manifold as I'm sure you're aware. The m50manifold.com kit requires 'modification' of the bracket, apparently 'irreversible modification'. At that point, I prefer to have something 'modified' my way.
Ref: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1807905 , if that's the modding and the limitations, what I'm saying would seem to make sense particularly for our application.

M50 manifold kit simply requires you chop out a small piece of the bracket to route the CCV back to. Effects nothing and could bolt back up to OBD2 no problem... Just saying

Getting back to this after solving a few other problems and discovering new ones, always a delight. What do you cut away from the OBD II bracket to make it fit? I can't visualise this...
