I'm looking online at dme chips. They are pretty cheap.. but the thing that I don't get is... if an m3 s50 dme is the same as a base 325 dme.. why do the m3 chips say will not fit 325/525? basically I guess a 506 chip wont work in a 413? is a 506 an EWS dme?

I have a 413 from a 93 325is. Should I just order one for a 325?

I emailed trm tuning. They said I would need a 3.0 specific tune to get optimal performance .. but the 2.5 chip will work.

I mean if stock 2.5 dme is the same as stock s50 Why wouldnt a modded 2.5 dme work.

Think they're just trying to sell me a new chip

While the DME's are the same, they have a different chip with a different tune from the factory. You'd probably be better off with a stock S50 chip than a TRM chip for an M50.

TRM says I can send your 2.5 chip to them, if I buy it, and they can flash it for an S50.. but they would need some info from your purchase.. name etc..
