    Shifter recommendation, console interference, etc.

The swap was done by a local shop, not sure what carrier was used, I'm guessing the G240 carrier, but the shifter is a little too far forward in the console. S50 with g240 from 91 318is is the build and it has a stock 318 shifter now.

Shift feel is nice and solid, they replaced some of the wear bits so it feels like new stock, but putting it into reverse or 1st and it hits the console and you have to push firmly into gear or it may pop out when you engage the clutch as the console will interfere with the lever.

I was planing on doing a short shift kit anyway but I believe this marginal extra bit of reduction will remedy the other problem as well without me having to replace the carrier, etc.

I just want to make sure I don't have a problem with guibo interference so I don't want anything too extreme.

Was thinking of one of the understeer kits or maybe the RE kit, but do you guys have a suggestion that will almost guarantee no issues with guibo interference?

I have guibo interference with my UUC evo3, but strangely enough I hadn't heard of people having similar problems. I'm just going to raise the carrier bracket slightly and it should be fine

Lovely shift feel with that kit though.

doesnt this happen if the shifter is spun around 180 degrees. i cant remember if you do this by accident wether it will make it too far forward toward 1st or too car back toward 2nd. but i would look into that

on another not i have the RE kit with teh dssr and carrier and shifter. i used everything but the shifter because the length was too long and i had guibo interference.

        This.

I had the same problem on my ZF. Turned the shifter 180 degrees and problem solved. I know mine is a different trans but worth trying.

I also had the same dumb problem with my ZF trans.. Spun the shifter 180" and solved.. Definitely worth a look.
