anybody follow the rm european 24v swap guide??

I'm reading through this guys writeup on rmeuropean.com and he says to use obd2 headers on a single o2 sensor obd1 setup "I go to bmw parts and get two o2 sensor plugs for a 98 313is"
What's he doing with that? There is no explanation as to what the two plugs are doing.
I was going to plug the dual obd2 sensor bungs andmake some sort of x pipe after the headers and put my o2 bung in there... probably with an extended o2 sensor wire. Is there some way to run two sensors on obd1? Is that what he did?

(I'm using a s/m52 e36 header)

AFAIK he used the plugs to plug the O2 sensor bung holes in the headers. Either way, any off the shelf O2 bung from an exhaust shop will work.

Oh.. I didnt know bmw ever used o2 bung plugs on a stock vehicle.. hence the confusion. Its sounded like he was referring to electrical plugs.

That's a helpful write up. Lots of options laid out pretty plain and simple. A thing some of those folks need to seach before starting a thread about "what all is needed for an m/s5x swap.

^ this. std. plug. exhaust shop tech just gave me 2.
For OBD1 You also need to eliminate the omissions port on the ex manifolds. You can buy block off plates from Bimmerworld and maybe others. Or just weld up the 2 slots between the exhaust port and the hole. The weld only needs to be about 3mm+- long use minimal heat to avoid warping the flange , file smooth.
This is what I did no plates. use new gaskets.

edit; if you're going OBD1 the sensor is located just before the cats. pipes go from 2> into 1 w/ O2 sensor then to cats or pipe. The wire length on the OBD 1 sensor worked for me. 94 M50 OBD1. Soon to be S52. this is a calif smog legal (BAR certified) install

I still haven't decided if I will use the cat. Ill probably run a full custom stainless system and in NY a car this old only has to pass saftey

On my auto harness, the other plug with the O2 sensor went to the auto trans. was your donor car auto? The reverse light wiring is part of the body harness IIRC.

mine was a stick 93 325is

its a two pin connector similar to a coolant temp sensor.. looks like its a reverse light switch to me

If it's two pins, it's definitely not the plug I am referring to.
