    1987 m50nv

    Hey guys!
I got a 1987 e30 a year a go and the timing belt broke two months after I bought it so I decided to do an m50nv swap cus i got a good price on it.
I've just been having problems with the write ups. I'm not sure what tranny or brake booster to use. Can someone please help me out

    Thanks in advance!

If you want to run the same rear end ratio, use your E30 Getrag 260. you need a special x member, sold by a forum member here, and the lower bolts wont line up with the oil pan

If you want you can run an e36 trans but they dont have overdriven 5th gears so the rear end ratio comes into play

a 320i booster fits but braking suffers.
I moved my booster over 1/2" but alot of people dont like that setup.
Theres a 325ix booster that fits.. porsche boosters too.. search it youll find alot of info

since its a M50NV then there is no need to run anything more than the stock G260, just get a LSD rear if your car doesnt already have one. not needed just better lol

im pretty sure the E32 booster is the same as the IX booster, someone can correct me if i am wrong

Do I have to do any mods to the drive shaft if I use my getrag 260?
              Thanks for the info👍

No, you do need to get a trans brace that is modified 10 degrees

                        Sure did.

I forget who did this first, but I found the info on R3v and pretty much copied what that guy did, although when you move it over you lost the ability to use one booster nut out of the 4 originally used.. and I didnt like that so I modified the pedal console to make all 4 still work
