I'm planning to swap the m42 out of my 1991 318is with an s52 obd2 from an automatic 1999 m3. I already trimmed out the automatic harness, what else can I trim off? I'm planning to eliminate the abs pump with a tee connector as well.
On second thought, I decided against it. Too much trouble just to have less engine bay clutter. Speaking of abs, the e36 abs connects to the body harness or engine harness?
as a general rule, though, early models get the ABS pump power through the body wiring, late models through the c101/engine harness
I've already been studying those etms extensively, thanks anyway, looks like pin 20 on my c101 needs to get hooked up to switched power to enable the abs to function. For example, splicing into pin 6 like jackbenny's diagram.
Any info about trimming the harness down to the essentials? the only things i can think of at the moment are snipping the reverse connector off the harness to tap into the e30 body harness, ill need the sap connector since im staying obi 2.
So, lets play "Name That Connector!"
