    M52 misfire

Ok, so my e30 has been sitting for about 3 weeks, an now that i want to drive it it has a misfire i think.. I noticed this when i was getting on the freeway today
Its around the 2.5k-3k rpm range. I loose power an get a deep exhaust sound, after 3k rpm car would go back to normal. Then i decided to floor it after the misfire an car would bounce off 5k rpm and will not go over that..

I check the coils by disconecting one by one an they are good
I got new plugs since i had 2 years with them..
An still i get the misfires now im thinking cam sensor, but i would like more ideas from my r3v fam... Thanks!

My car did this when the compression in #2 was low in the S52. lopy idle, throttle cooks up, not steady, hits 5K and falls on its face when it had crazy pull before...

do a compression test. google how to do it properly.

other option is fuel injectors, or a bad sensor - cam or tps.

Okay so this morning i got up at 4am to start work at 5am an i took my e30 i was driving down the freeway an the car was still cold.. An it didnt have any issues, i got on it an took it up to 115mph... Pulled strong all the way no problems at all.. I made a stop on a 76 gas station to get some coffe got back on the car an then same problem started again will not go over 5k an it would misfire at 2500-3000k rpm... So this issue will only happen when the temp is in the 1/2 way mark/operating temp

It's probably you crank position sensor. my car ran great cold once it got warm it wouldn't r3v past 5000rpm. Replaced it today now it runs perfect.

Im going to start with a compression test Just to get that out the way. About the sensor whats a good way to test them...? I just dont want to waste money in sensor i dont need.

Look up the ohm readings on google test it cold and then warm. Mine was in spec cold but after the car got warm it was out of spec.
