    Wrong 944 booster ?

Went on teh Ebays and bought a "944" brake booster .

This doesn't look at all right to me. I remember my last 944 booster being
The same thickness the whole way down this is thin then gets thicker ...

Do I have the wrong one? Thanks

My 944 Turbo brake booster also had the shaft that got slightly thicker, there were a couple of versions. It works fine.

Could that just be the Girling(not ATE) one mentioned here?

Mine was an ATE, they are dimensionally very much the same and your Girling master cylinder should fit perfectly. If you look at the pictures in that write up the stock booster has an extension by the fire wall studs, I found that few washers on each stud emulates that and your master will line up perfectly with your brake lines, no bending needed. keep that in mind before cutting off the extra shaft length.
