obdII turbo?

i cant find much info on this other than obdII is now a good swap since like 2009ish but not much info if the chips / flashes are turbo friendly im looking to run a turbo eventually in my s52 and dont want to go threw the trouble of finding a harness and all the sensors and the red label ecu anyone have any info on this? its a 1999 m3 vert engine swaping into a 1988 325is coupe

obd2 turbo tuning has been done but it is currently pricey.

expect the cost to come down over the years as more people turbocharge and more tuners come to market.
