    C104 Confirmation (Tach Issue)

Hey guys, need some help clarifying the C104 for tach signal. I’ve searched a lot, but I am extremely illiterate when it comes to talking about electronics in cars. I thought I was a god when I got the unloader relay to work with the engine out…

Anyways, is this connector with the black wire the C104?

Do I just connect the black wire to Pin 20 on the e36 side? The only wires I can find in my glove box are the black conector and the two white ones above...

Car is 11/88 build date, sold as 89. Harness was done by someone on this forum I believe (Took the harness from my brother as he was not using it). Engine is OBD1 M50TU, but will be S50 shortly...

    Thanks,

Ill have to check with my brother haha. Well shit. How am I supposed to get a tach signal to my cluster then? MPH, Temp, and Fuel level all work as they should. RPM sits at 500 when car is turned on, and Econo gauge shows Prius - so I do believe the SI board & batteries to be good.

Econo gauge won't read correctly because it's expecting smaller injectors. Your tach is at 500 no matter what the motor is actually spinning at? If so, somewhere your wiring is incorrect.

That would explain my door ajar reminder:

I forgot my tach did this as I took that video awhile ago. My door sensor no longer works so the tach doesn't change when I open the door. But yes, when moving, the tach stays around 500 no matter what the RPM.

Yeah I know that, but it shows 40+ MPG no matter what my RPM is.

I would hope not lol. Ill check the connector when I swap the S50 in. My Oil Pressure dummy light isnt working either. Must be the harness :(
