    M50 wont start

    Hi guys,

I have a E30 swaped with a M50, engine cranks but doesn't fire. My engine is in it cranks but no spark or fuel. I have 12v to my injectors and wen i put a ground my brw/grn on my relay pump goes on. I have 12v to my dme on pin 26 and 56 and i have all my grounds the 2 on the shock tower and the one on the right engine mount.

My DME is a silver label the finishes by 413 and its grounded. Ive done alot of research on this forum i took all the info for the swap here so i know we can figure the problem out.

here is my piout for my c101 and x20 connectors

    E30 pin E36 pin
    Blue 1 blue 25
    brn/wht 4 brn/vio 12
    brn/gr 5 brn/grn 23
    grn/yel 6 grn/wht 22
grn 7 grn 21 ( both wires are connected) small and big
    wht 8 wht/blk 24
    blk 9 blk 20
    wht/blu 11 wht/gr 19
    brn 12 gray 8
    grn/vio 13 grn/vio 13
    blk/wht 14 blk/wht 14
    blk/grn 15 blk/grn 15
    wht/blk 16 wht/vio 17
    blk/yel 18 blk/yel 18
red/yel ABS connected to a red/wht fro main relay.

So thats my pinout another thing my harness was automatic i removed everything and I have a brn/blk wire left I read to connect it to a red/wht wire?

I dont know were to look no more!!!:-?

    Thank you

Re check your relays. Will it fire if you jump them (imitating on positions)? You said your pump turns on when jumped but not using the normal relay?

You need a red label 413.. The silver label comes with a EWS system. Either you get a EWS DELETE chip that removes it or a red label 413.

this as well. i have a silver label and got my ews deleted by turner since it had turner stg3 tune already

but if you want a cheaper route and get a 413 red label. i actually have one for sale

I have another question about testing my cam and crank sensor. What is the best way to test them? I read that some guys inverted the plugs mine are male female so i cant mix them up?

You can test to make sure they ohm out properly with a meter. Which plugs are not connected? It depends on the harness

Pretty sure that the silver label DME is your issue. However, I just had a very similar issue on an S52 car last week. Turns out one of the smaller starter wires was grounding out and not turning power on to the DME.

So i got my red label DME car started for 30 seconds. I have spark and injectors open i check with a noid light. I hear the fuel pump wen i crank but i don't have pressure. I switched my lines dint change nothing. On my M42 i had a pressure regulator on the fuel rail i dont on my m50 can that be a problem? I blocked the return with a vise grip and still dint start.

Now im gonna put the gaz pressure gauge on the pump direct see if the pump is ok. I read that the pressure should be at 43 psi is that correct?
