I promise I have searched a great deal (my low post count means I usually search before asking a question) and here is my concern...
I am swapping an M50tub25 into my 6/86 eta. I just recently replaced my driveshaft due to a failed U-joint (about 2 months ago). My plan was to pick up a ZF transmission so that I could continue to use the driveshaft I just replaced.
However, I found a low mileage G250 for $50 locally with a 1 year warranty. This would include giving them my G260 from the eta as a core when the swap was completed.
The problem is the G250 has the small guibo and my driveshaft has the larger. Clearly I cannot bolt my driveshaft up to this trans and I don't want to have to ditch the new driveshaft just to spend another $350 on a different one.
1. Can I swap out the output flange from my G260 to the G250?
2. Can I use the Revshift guibo "backwards" to mate the two together?
3. Should I bite the bullet and buy another driveshaft?
Should I just buy another flywheel (my dual mass is shaking like whoa) and use the longer ETA G260 that I have? If so, should I grab a shift carrier assembly from an e36 to make correcting the 10 degree rotation a little easier?
I apologize if this has been covered more clearly elsewhere, I promise I have spent a great deal of time searching before starting a new post.
I am picking up my head from the machine shop today. The motor should be back together by the weekend and the transmission issue is one of two issues keeping me from completing the swap before Vintage at the end of May.
Thanks in advance!
